Alumni Day Program / July 6, 2024
The METU Alumni Day will be celebrated on July 6, 2024, between 08.00 and 19.30 with various activities to be held on campus. You can see the program below. Should there be any changes in the program in the coming days, it will be updated accordingly.
08.00 – 14.00
- Gathering, registration, and distribution of gowns at Culture and Convention Center (KKM)
08.40 – 10.30
- Visit to Anıtkabir (Buses will depart from KKM and return to the campus at 10.30)
10.00 – 14.00
- Workshop for kids (at KKM Small Foyer)
10.30 – 11.30
- “Haydi Bil Hocam!” knowledge contest with a prize (at KKM Main Foyer)
- Promotion of Bellek (at KKM Main Foyer)
10.30 – 11.00
- Marching Band Performance (to the front of KKM)
11.00 – 11.30
- Performances of the Alumni of METU Turkish Classical Music Club and METU Presidency Choir under the direction of Chief Conductor Coşkun Açıkgöz (in front of KKM)
12.00 – 17.00
- Center for Society and Science Research (TBM) and Museum of Archaeology (The exhibition area of TBM and the Museum of Archaeology will be open for our alumni to visit)
12.00 – 14.00
- Alumni Day Lunch (at METU Cafeteria)
Menu: Ankara Tava, salad, Keşkül or fruit as dessert, beverage
14.00 – 17.30
- Visit to departments, various events at the departments, and the Commemorative Medal Ceremonies at the departments for our alumni who have reached the 10th, 20th, 30th, 40th, 50th, 55th, and 60th anniversary of their graduation
14.30 – 15.30
- Commemorative Medal Ceremony for our alumni who graduated from the interdisciplinary programs under the Graduate Schools (at KKM, Hall A)
15.30 – 16.30
- “Haydi Bil Hocam!” knowledge contest with a prize (at KKM Main Foyer)
- Promotion of Bellek (at KKM Main Foyer)
16.30 – 17.30
- Opening of Donation Wall (at Bahar Park, near Çarşı, the site where the Time Capsule was buried)
17.30 – 19.30
- Alumni Day Cocktail and Dolce Jazz Vocal Live Music organized by the Alumni Office and the AdımODTÜ Fundraiser Office (at the garden between the Social Building and KKM)
Notes:
- There will be campus tours conducted at various times throughout the day with open-top buses that will depart from the KKM parking lot.
- There will be a graffiti-making event all day in front of the Culture and Convention Center.
